British Cinematographer Presents…the July and September issue launch celebration
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the second British Cinematographer Presents event – we hope you enjoyed the evening!
Each event celebrates the people and productions featured in the latest issue – this time it was a double whammy as we marked the launch of the July and September editions.
Through a narrated video, we heard from Anthony Dod Mantle ASC BSC DFF about the dramatic causeway sequence from 28 Years Later, which was the cover story of the July/August issue.
Henry Braham BSC, who shot our September/October issue cover story production Superman, also talked us through a scene from that film – revealing how surprisingly little CG was used in production, with large-scale sets the order of the day.
And Balazs Bolygo BSC HCA spoke about Suspect: The Shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes, explaining how the team had to jump through legal hoops to tell that series’ important story in a truthful and impactful manner.
